A newly founded society run by a cohort of ambitious students, dedicated to educating members on hedge fund strategies through a rigorous, hands-on curriculum.
We combine lectures with simulations, competitions, and technical workshops to bridge theory and investment practice. The society is open to students of all majors and experience levels, emphasizing disciplined risk-taking, analytical thinking, and — above all — collaborative learning.
We're registered at Purdue as BoilerHedge. You may also see us as the Hedge Fund Society — the name we were founded under and still use in some settings, which is why our club email is hfspurdue@gmail.com.
Each semester runs 12 to 13 weeks, meeting every week or every other week. Every session follows the same format: a lecture, paired with something interactive. One week that's a stock pitch competition, another it's a Python workshop where you build a backtest, another it's a guest speaker from the industry taking questions.
There are no prerequisites. The curriculum starts at "what is a hedge fund" and works up from there, so the people writing their first line of Python sit next to the people who've traded for years, and both get something out of it.
Ask any of us on the team page, or just come to a meeting and see it firsthand.
